Macrophage: Phagocytosis, antigen processing and membrane presentation

Phagocytosis and processing of exogenous antigen by macrophages. Most of the products resulting from digestion of ingested material are exocytosed, but some peptide products interact with class II MHC molecules, forming complexes that move to the cell surface where they are presented to T_H cells.
